Terms of Use
These terms apply to the arvorina.com website and to the Arvorina service while it is in its pilot. We have kept them short and plain. If something is unclear, write to info@arvorina.com.
Arvorina is not an emergency service. If you or someone near you is in danger, or you are thinking about harming yourself, call 112 — the free emergency number everywhere in the EU — or your local emergency services.
1. Who we are
Arvorina is operated by Vitaliy Petroff, a sole trader (empresário em nome individual) established in Portugal (“we”, “us”). Full details are in the legal notice. By using the website or the service you agree to these terms.
2. What Arvorina is — and is not
- Arvorina is a platform that helps Russian-speaking people living in Europe find a psychologist, and gives psychologists tools for their practice: a profile and personal site, booking, calendar sync, chat, video and notes.
- Arvorina itself does not provide psychological, medical or therapeutic services, and does not diagnose or treat anyone.
- Psychologists on Arvorina are independent professionals. They are not our employees or agents. Each psychologist is responsible for their own services, qualifications, conduct and compliance with the rules of their profession and country. Any agreement about sessions is between the client and the psychologist.
- We review profiles and do not accept esoteric or astrological practices. Badges show that a specific item was checked — for example, a diploma — and mean exactly that, not a guarantee of results.
3. Pilot and changes to the service
The service is in a pilot, before its public launch. Features may change, appear or be removed, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. Access during the pilot may be by invitation. We will tell users in good time before changes that matter to them.
4. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- Give accurate information and keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account; tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it.
- You can close your account at any time.
5. Fees
- The service is free for clients. Clients pay their psychologist directly, on terms agreed with that psychologist.
- Psychologists pay a subscription for the tools. Prices, billing period and cancellation terms are shown before purchase; payments are handled by Stripe.
- We take no commission from sessions.
6. Acceptable use
Please don’t use Arvorina to break the law, to harass or deceive anyone, to offer esoteric or pseudo-medical services, to post content you have no right to share, to send spam, to collect other users’ data, or to interfere with the service or its security. We may remove content or suspend accounts that do so, and we will explain our decision and how to challenge it.
7. Content
The website, the Arvorina name and the ginkgo mark belong to us. Content you post stays yours; you give us the permission we need to store and show it within the service for as long as it is there. Psychologists are responsible for what they publish on their profiles and sites.
8. Third-party services
Some features rely on services you connect yourself — for example Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook or Stripe. Their own terms apply to them. How we handle data from them is described in the privacy policy.
9. Liability
- We work carefully to keep Arvorina available and secure, but during the pilot we provide it as it is and cannot promise that it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors.
- We are not responsible for the services a psychologist provides, or for decisions you make based on them.
- To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to foreseeable damage typical for this kind of service.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or any right you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by contract.
10. Ending use
You can stop using Arvorina and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms; except in urgent cases we will warn you first.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell account holders by e-mail before the change takes effect. The date and version at the top always show the current text.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim there. Before going to court, please write to us — we would rather solve it together. You can also use the complaints book (Livro de Reclamações Eletrónico) or out-of-court dispute resolution at CNIACC; see the legal notice.
